Preparing Your 2026 Trade Show Exhibit
New Year, Fresh Start to Exhibit Planning
It’s the first week back in the office after the holiday season and you’re probably wondering where to start in your 2026 trade show exhibit planning. If you’re exhibiting at a show in the first half of the year, now is the time to approve renderings, review contracts, and start preparing your marketing material for your show. If you’re exhibiting in the second half of the year, start meeting with your preferred vendors to create a plan of attack for your exhibit.
What to think about:
- Exhibit Space
- Has your exhibit space changed since the show last year? If you’re in a larger space, what will you add to your display to fill the floorplan. Moving to a smaller space? Coordinate a plan to decide what you will need in your booth and the number of staff to send that won’t overcrowd your space.
- Booth Design
- Work with your exhibit house to perfect your booth design leading up to the show. Will you create a new space or refresh your current exhibit? Attending a new show or looking to add large machinery? Make sure you review the live floorplan to see where attendee traffic will shift near your space and coordinate the best spot to have your reception counter and staff to meet potential clients.
- Hanging Sign
- Will you go with a custom hanging sign or a rental? Custom hanging signs allow you the creative freedom to mimic your products or logo for attendees to see on the show floor. While rental hanging signs can be more affordable and easier to add-on to your space (depending on your show timeline for service orders).
- Storage / Meeting Space
- If you’re creating a storage room, why? What will it be used for and how will you optimize it to decrease stress on show days. With a meeting space, who are you catering to? Should you include TV’s, infographics, or cabinet space for extra storage?
- Graphics
- After your renderings are completed, take the time to create your booth graphics to ensure your brand is connecting seamlessly across your display.
- Misc.
- Review your current exhibit assets to see what your team wants to utilize at future shows. If you own your exhibit, see if anything needs to be repaired to ensure there are few surprises on the show floor.
