Exhibiting With a Large Square Footage

Exhibits can come in all sizes depending on where your convention is being held. In a larger convention space, attendees can find displays that are 1,000 sq ft and up. If this is your first time entering the exhibit world and you’re wondering if you should get a smaller or larger exhibit for your company, we came up with a couple reasons as to why companies might opt for a larger space.

Why do companies exhibit with a large square footage?

1. Machinery
   • Industrial shows might leave little room for exhibit components due to machinery taking up larger portions of an exhibit space. Some exhibitors might opt for a large square footage in order to incorporate a display with their product while others might have an exhibit solely featuring their machinery.
2. Vehicles
   • Transportation industries such as trucking might bring their trucks or trailers to display at a show for attendees to inspect and walkthrough. Due to their sizeable presence, a larger exhibit space is needed.
3. Product Demonstration
   • Exhibitors might rely on product demonstrations to show how their product operates to potential buyers. At The Inspired Home Show in 2025, our client Wilton created a decorating station where a Wilton employee demonstrated how they were preparing a cupcake and others could follow their instructions.
4. Meeting Space
   • A show your company attends might be the one place you’re able to create client relationships. Due to that reason, an exhibit space might call for multiple private or semi-private conference rooms. Other options can include setting up pockets of lounge seating around a display for a more casual meeting space while allowing attendees a much-needed break from walking the convention floor.
5. Lectures / Educational Presentations
   • If a new product is being released or there’s an educational seminar occurring, an exhibitor might opt for a large space with an area to set up seating and a large screen for a presentation.
