Incorporating Plants into Your Exhibit Design

Jan 17, 2024

Let’s face it, conventions can be mentally and physically draining. Attendees are in an exhibit hall for hours at a time, walking thousands of steps, all while being in an industrial box that usually has limited window access to the outside world. Wondering how you can create a little oasis in your exhibit for attendees? We recommend incorporating plants into your exhibit design.

Plants have the ability to

1. Showcase products in a unique way

    • In this display, we created an artifical plant wall in-between plexi glass. Wood tones were brought in through the base of the display and in the shelving unit. The client was able to display their product on shelves while also highlighting important information for attendees on the plexi glass.

2. Take away the industrial feel of an exhibit hall

    • Our client wanted to bring their Miami Headquarters to the expo floor. We were able to help bring their vision to life by adding turf and beige carpet through the middle of the booth. With their “Cheers” cart, they were able to break away from the expo hall and dive into a beachy, food truck themed exhibit.

3. Make your exhibit stand out

    • In this exhibit, we utlizied plants to border the company’s logo. This made the exhibit feel more like an art gallery. We mixed real plants with artificial plants in the exhibit. By utilizing fake plants on the top, we were able to mirror the bottom look and feel of the exhibit (without soil falling on attendees from the ceiling).

4. Add to your brands visual display (or add 3D elements to a 2D image)

    • In this exhibit, our client had enclosed their exhibit to attendees with two access points. The exterior featured printed plant graphics while the interior had a 3D/2D effect with a printed plant graphic and 3D artificial plants as a wall feature.

Plants can be used in your exhibit multiple ways from printed graphics to display pieces.

Tips and ideas for incorporating plants into your exhibit design:

  1. Use plants to make your exhibit feel cozy and welcoming
  2. Add an artificial plant to your welcome desk or on meeting tables
  3. Add planter boxes in front of walls with artificial plants
  4. If you are displaying products, add plants to break it up
